DCL Group of Companies proudly presents the development of a series of new state-of-the-art medical buildings designed for maximum sustainability and energy efficiency. The first facility (slated to open Q4, 2013) will be located in Stouffville, Ontario (one of the top ten growing cities in Ontario). This sets an important precedent for Canada where a private sector developer is striving to support the growing needs of our public healthcare sector.
The first DCL Healthcare Centre will be less than 6km from the newly expanding Markham/Stouffville Hospital. With strong support from the Town of Stouffville, The building is exclusively designed and marketed towards the healthcare industry and the community it serves.
“The DCL Stouffville Medical Centre is one of the biggest projects we’ve ever had in our municipality involving green, sustainable buildings… It’s exciting for our municipality and it’s going to be a very big benefit for our residents. The more buildings that do this, the better off we’ll be and the better it will be for future generations.”
Mayor Wayne Emmerson, Town of Stouffville
Incorporating DCL’s innovative approach to construction, this facility will become one of the most advanced medical buildings in Ontario, operating at efficiency levels unattainable by most other buildings. It will establish a landmark development for the town of Stouffville and a benchmark for future DCL projects across the country. Discussions are already underway with East Gwillimbury, Vaughan, Guelph, Keswick, and other municipalities to establish future sites for the DCL projects.
“I am very impressed with CEO Frank Deluca’s vision for healthcare facilities in Ontario. I am the former executive director of the World Green Building Council and member representative of the United Nations Environmental Program, currently on GMF Council at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities; I can say with confidence that there are not many leaders globally with Mr. Deluca’s commitment to create the next generation of high performance buildings -with a strategy that is cost effective and attractive to investors.”
Andrew Bowerbank, CSO & Board Member, DCL Group of Companies
With support from leading companies including Enbridge Gas, BASF, Hydro One, Philips Canlyte, Planit Measuring, GroundSource Heat, and BRE Global, The DCL Facilities will set an example for new “smart” technology applications in the marketplace. Strategies are underway with these industry leaders to implement the latest in lighting, materials, communications, energy & water management systems, and much more.
“I am very pleased with the way industry leaders have come together to support these new building ideas. The healthcare sector needs facilities that offer doctors and staff the latest in technologies and patients deserve a superior level of care in a healthy environment; these targets can only be achieved through green building design. We are also working very closely with Sustainable Buildings Canada on this initiative and I am proud to say that I have been elected to Chair this year’s Green Building Festival, taking place at the Evergreen Brickworks October 11 & 12, 2012. I look forward to engaging the building construction community at this conference to maximize our project opportunities.”
Frank Deluca, CEO, DCL Group of Companies
